I am making progress on the granny squares quilt.  I have the squares pieced, pressed, trimmed and sashed!!  It took me about 40 minutes to do each square as I was being really careful to make sure that everything lined up.  Now to do the borders, which will also be white.  I think that I will free motion quilt this one, although I haven’t done a lot of free motion so I am a little nervous!!  I am thinking of doing a scrappy binding with the leftover 2 1/2″ strips.  What do you think?

I have to show this picture of my “project calendar”.  My daughter left this behind when I took over her bedroom and turned it in to my sewing room.  No, I didn’t kick her out – when she went to college, we converted the room above the garage (that was the playroom) into her bedroom.  She’s quite happy because it is bigger and offers her more privacy, and I am happy because I finally have a room just for sewing! Anyway, I thought that I would use this dry erase calendar to keep track of my projects.  I love it because it helps me manage my time better and it is great to look back at the end of the month and see that I have accomplished something (other than the laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc.).
I am linking up today with Lee’s blog, Freshly Pieced.  Go over there and check out lots of amazing works in progress.

Happy Sewing,
